Man delivers knock out punch to suspected robber

A suspected robber was arrested after the victim he targeted punched him out and his accomplice ditched him.

Ernesto Lopez, 22, was arrested Monday about 1:30 a.m. when the man driving the getaway vehicle left him behind.
Police said Lopez is suspected of approaching a man in the parking lot located in the 2100 Block of East University Drive and simulating a handgun while demanding the man hand over his wallet and cell phone.
The robbery was unsuccessful when the victim punched Lopez and a struggle broke out.
Police are still searching for a Hispanic male, 19 to 25 years old, 5 feet 8 inches and 230 pounds, wearing a black hat. He may have been driving a four-door charcoal gray pick-up Toyota Tacoma truck made in at least the year 2000.
