“How does a police officer leave his K-9 in the back of his vehicle and the dog dies? I mean, is the heat getting to all of us?”

“Chandler police (Sgt.) Tom Lovejoy’s leaving his police dog in the car, resulting in the dog’s death, should, if nothing else, never allow Lovejoy to be on the K-9 corps again.”

“The death of Bandit is heartbreaking and inexcusable. A case of stupid, arrogant neglect to a loyal canine partner. The sergeant doesn’t belong on a police force or anywhere he has authority.”

“The officer in Chandler who left his dog in the car may as well hang it up. He has lost more than his backup. He lost his credibility and his dependability and whatever else he had to make a good policeman.”

“If a police dog dies in the execution of its duties, it’s lauded as a fallen officer and the perpetrator is held responsible for the animal’s death … Forgetfulness is not a legal excuse. Criminal action against the officer in this case is more than appropriate, it’s necessary.”

“That poor police dog was the property of the taxpayers and the cop destroyed it through his negligence. He must charged with animal cruelty and reimburse the city for the value of the dog as any citizen would be required to do. Or are cops above the law?”

“I know Tom and I trained with him. I can guarantee there’s nothing that Chandler can do that would be make him feel worse than he already does. I guarantee he’s beating himself up over this. He’s going to be harder on himself than anyone else could be.”

“What in God’s name is that hideous glass contraption stuck on the side of Hayden flour mill (Tribune, Tuesday)? It doesn’t match at all. It looks ridiculous.”

“The Chandler police need to find and arrest the person or persons responsible for the graffiti on the Chandler Elevation project. They need to be made to pay the removal costs, or made to remove it with toothbrushes until gone, and then serve jail time.”

“This is a response for the person who wrote about ‘all of those Mexican haters out there’ and ‘don’t call yourselves Christians’ (Vent, Monday), if you are so Christian, you go ahead and let all of those Mexicans come to your place to live.”

“If Jesus was here on this Earth, he would feed the illegals and then he’d send them back to their countries because we have to uphold the law.”

“Thank you for the return of The Bridge column. I was just about ready to cancel my subscription.”

“I really dislike your new format, everything from not enough letters to the editor to some of the editorial page itself. It make it even worse, no soap opera digest in Saturday’s paper. How do I know what I’m missing?”

“The Chinese may be wrong, but the responsibility lies with Mattel, who did not check their incoming product with millions of dollars in profit to them.”

“Why wouldn’t the public want to support the expenses of the Chandler Little League team (Vent, Tuesday)? They are representing the whole state in a very public way.”
