Tattoo artist arrested

Tempe detectives arrested a 21-year-old tattoo artist Thursday on suspicion of sexual abuse and public sexual indecency after he touched a female customer inappropriately and exposed himself to her, police said.

Eric McMorris of Glendale was arrested about 6:40 p.m. and taken to Tempe City Jail, Sgt. Mike Horn said.

An 18-year-old woman told police the tattoo artist at In the Flesh tattoo shop, 1250 E. Apache Blvd., gave her a small tattoo below her waistline before he touched her and exposed himself on Feb. 7.

The woman told a friend about the incident before calling police. She didn’t report it sooner, she told police, because she was embarrassed and didn’t know what to do.
