Shootings suspects indicted in Glendale arsons

Serial Shooter suspects Samuel J. Dieteman and Dale S. Hausner now face federal arson charges. A federal grand jury in Phoenix indicted Dieteman, 30, and Hausner, 33, both of Mesa, on Wednesday on a twocount indictment.
The charges stem from two June 8 fires at two Glendale Wal-Mart stores, one on 95th Avenue and the other on West Northern Avenue.
Each count for maliciously destroying a building used in interstate commerce carries a maximum penalty of life in prison and a mandatory five years of imprisonment.
The prosecution of the cases will be conducted after the serial shooting cases.
“We are deferring our own case until the State has completed its prosecution of the two defendants for the very serious crimes they are accused of,” U.S. Attorney Paul K. Charlton said in a news release.
On Aug. 11, a Maricopa County grand jury indicted Dieteman and Hausner on two counts of first-degree murder, 14 counts of attempted first-degree murder, 14 counts of aggravated assault and 16 counts of drive-by shooting.
