AHWATUKEE FOOTHILLS

Red, White & Boom! - The Ahwatukee Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass, 5700 North Loop Road, Gila River Indian Community, (480) 502-5600. New location this year. Fireworks display, family fun, cookout and live entertainment 4 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

APACHE JUNCTION

Fireworks - Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive, (480) 982-3141. Fireworks display 9 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

CAVE CREEK

Third of July Spectacular Fireworks Extravaganza - Harold's Cave Creek Corral, 6895 E. Cave Creek Road, (480) 488-1906. Live entertainment, barbecue and fireworks at sunset 6 p.m. Monday. Free.

Cave Creek Fireworks - Frontier Town, 6245 E. Cave Creek Road, (480) 488-3317. Fireworks displays 9 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Free.

CHANDLER

Fourth of July Celebration - Tumbleweed Park, 2250 S. McQueen Road, (480) 782-2735. Classic car show, live music, food and children's rides at 4 p.m. and fireworks at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

Old-Fashioned 4th of July Celebration - Mesquite High School, 500 S. McQueen Road, (480) 926-1433. Fireworks, entertainment, contests, games, carnival rides, community exhibits and a kids' parade 5 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

MESA

46th annual Independence Day Celebration - Mesa Community College, 1833 W. Southern Ave., (480) 644-3836. Live music, children's activities and, of course, fireworks 6 to 9:45 p.m. Tuesday. $1 admission and $5 for parking.

Fourth of July “Night of Stars” ’50s Celebration - Living Word Bible Church, 3520 E. Brown Road, (480) 964-4463. Annual Fourth of July fireworks and carnival 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. Fireworks display starts at 9 p.m. Free.

Old-Fashioned Family 4th of July - Rockin' R Ranch, 6136 E. Baseline Road, (480) 832-1539. Barbecue, watermelon, gold panning, wagon rides and fireworks Tuesday. $14 to $25.

PHOENIX

Feline Fireworks - El Zaribah Shrine Auditorium, 552 N. 40th St., (602) 684-5876. 7 p.m. today. $7.

21st annual Fabulous Phoenix Fourth - Steele Indian School Park, 300 E. Indian School Road, (602) 534-3378. Watch the largest aerial fireworks show in the Southwest, four stages of bands, a carnival with games and rides 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

Twilight Camp and Fireworks - Phoenix Zoo, 455 N. Galvin Parkway, (602) 273-1341. Enjoy a barbecue dinner, animal encounters, a trail hike and watch the Tempe fireworks from the great zoo view 5:30 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. $4-$10.

QUEEN CREEK

4th of July Celebration - Schnepf Farms, 22601 E. Cloud Road, (480) 987-3100. Planned activities include water slides, rock climb, bouncies, miniature golf, train rides, carousel, games, live entertainment, food and the third largest fireworks display in the Valley 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesday. Fireworks start at 9 p.m. $10 per car load. $10 for wristbands for rides.

SCOTTSDALE

Good Old-Fashioned Fourth of July Picnic - Chaparral Park, 5401 N. Hayden Road, (480) 312-2771. Free family activities like tug of war, three-legged races, gunny sack races, arts and craft projects and more. Participants can bring their own food to grill, fixing will be provided. Live music. 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Free.

Fireworks - The Scottsdale Railroad and Mechanical Society sponsors a fireworks show at the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, 7301E. Indian Bend Road at 9 p.m. Live music with Chuckie Baby and the All Stars at 7:30 p.m. Today. Free.

Independence Day Celebration - Grace Chapel, 8524 E. Thomas Road, (480) 945-8071. An evening dedicated to the “Gift of Freedom — 230 years” 7:30 p.m. Today. Free.

TEMPE

Bell ringing ceremony - American Legion Post 2, 2125 S. Industrial Park Ave.. The American Legion's bell ringing ceremony where everyone can ring “Tempe's Liberty Bell” 10 a.m. Tuesday. Free.

July 4th Tempe Town Lake Festival - Tempe Town Lake, Rio Salado Parkway and Mill Avenue, (480) 350-5189. Event features the SRP 55th Annual Fireworks Spectacular, live music, inflatable Kids' Ride Village, vendors, and water fun and games for the family 4 to 11 p.m. Tuesday. $8 or $15 for two, under 12 are free.
