Samson Szakacsy took the bulk of the snaps at Tuesday's practice and will likely be the starting quarterback for Arizona State in Saturday's game against Arizona, coach Dennis Erickson said.
Danny Sullivan also took first-team snaps, but the biceps injury he suffered against USC on Nov. 7 and a back problem are keeping him from being at full strength.

Although Erickson will have to watch Wednesday's practice to make a definitive decision, it would be a surprise to not see Szakacsy under center starting the first offensive series.
"I'll see how Danny is (Wednesday), but chances are pretty good that that's probably how it's going to happen," Erickson said.
Szakacsy had his first career start in last week's game against UCLA. He finished 15 of 22 for 197 yards and two touchdowns but also had an interception and three fumbles.
Two of the turnovers were returned for touchdowns.
Another factor in the decision is the health of the offensive line.
Thomas Altieri (knee) won't be playing against the Wildcats, shuffling Garth Gerhart to center and Brent Good from second-team right guard to starter.
"With our offensive front as beat up as it is right now and with Altieri not playing, we're going to need to have someone who can move a little bit back there, and (Szakacsy) gives us that," Erickson said.
FOUR AND DONE
Saturday's contest will be the last collegiate game of wide receiver Kyle Williams' career.
Williams has already surpassed his single-season highs in catches (48) and yards (685) and tied his career high with six touchdowns this season.
In 2006, Williams, a true freshman, gave up his redshirt to play in the final six games, catching four balls for 87 yards in that span.
Looking back, it's a decision that Williams regrets.
"I've been down that road a whole bunch of times (looking back at it), but that's a decision I made," Williams said. "I was a young kid when I made it."
Early playing time is an option for few true freshmen, and Williams said it's a choice that most would gladly choose.
"You ask any 18-year-old in that locker room if they want to get out there and play, and I guarantee you 95 percent of them say yes," Williams said. "It's a decision I made, and I've kind of had to stick with that decision. I've treated this as my senior year the whole time. ... I would like to have that time back, but it's over with, and I'm happy with what I've been able to do."
INJURY UPDATE
Cornerback Deveron Carr (shoulder) will not play against the Wildcats. Terell Carr will start in his place.
