ASU men, women place in cross country NCAAs

The Arizona State Men finished 19th with the women taking 24th at the NCAA cross country championships in Terre Haute, Ind., Monday.

Brandon Bethke earned All-America honors by finishing seventh overall in the men's 10,000 meters with a time of 29:38:3. Bethke nabbed the highest finish for any male runner in ASU history.

With their finish the men's squad tallied their fifth top-20 finish in six years.

Allie Kieffer led the charge for the lady Sun Devils by finishing in 20:55:8 for 49th place in the 6,000 meters.
