You might not recognize the name Stanley Kirk Burrell, but as three-time Grammy Award winner MC Hammer, he brought rap music to a mass pop audience and launched an empire that had people clamoring for Hammer-style parachute pants, haircuts, dance moves and eyeglasses, a Mattel "Hammer" doll and a cartoon adventure hero named "Hammerman." The entertainer, who captured Juno's International Album of the Year award with one of the best-selling rap albums of all time, 1991's "Please Hammer Don't Hurt 'Em," has more than 1.5 million followers on Twitter and a new reality TV show on A&E.
