E.V. briefs: ASU wrestling blanks Portland St.

The Arizona State wrestling team didn’t drop a match against Portland State in a 40-0 win Friday at Phoenix Maryvale High School. Chris Drouin (141 pounds) had ASU’s lone pin by topping Portland State’s Westley Moniz in 2:59, and Jake Cranford (184) won by major decision for the Devils (2-0) with a 13-4 victory over Brian Lemmon.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
• Brittania Simmons had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Kelsey Lindemuth added 14 points and five rebounds as Chandler-Gilbert Community College topped Arizona Venom, 76-68 Friday at CGCC. D’Seanda Trotter added 14 points and seven rebounds for CGCC (2-0).
• Led by Katrina Graham’s 12 points, Mesa Community College (4-0) beat Phoenix College 84-53 at the Arizona Western College Desert Classic in Yuma. Bri Benjamin added 10 points and five assists for MCC.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL
• The 2009 U.S. Army All-American Bowl Selection Tour will visit Phoenix Desert Vista High School on Tuesday to select a student-athlete for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will be played Jan. 3 in San Antonio.
