Near-record highs expected in Valley

Near-record heat is expected early this week.
The National Weather Service forecast for Monday is a high of 86 degrees. The record high for Nov. 9 is 88 degrees, set in 2005.
The average temperature for Nov. 9 is 77 degrees.
If temperatures Tuesday meet the forecast high of 90 degrees it would tie the previous record for Nov. 10, set in 1986.
Veterans Day may see a small drop in the heat factor, with a high of 87 degrees projected.
There may be some cooling by the weekend. Friday’s forecast calls for cloudy skies, a high near 73 and a chance of showers.
