Pull on your legwarmers. “The Wedding Singer” is bringing the 1980s back to Mesa and Phoenix. The musical crammed full of ’80s pop-culture and ’80s-esque songs is based on the 1998 film starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Nominated for five 2006 Tony Awards (including Best Musical and Best Musical Score), the traveling production stars ASU alumna and pro thespian April Monte in the role of Holly.

“The Wedding Singer” takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 and 11, and 2 p.m. Nov. 11, at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St. Tickets start at $25. (480) 644-6500 or www.mesaartscenter.com. There will be six shows Nov. 12-15 at Phoenix’s Orpheum Theatre, where tickets start at $47.50. For details on Orpheum shows, call (800) 745-3000 or visit www.theaterleague.com.
