In Mesa, Chandler, Gilbert and Phoenix, four former Alltel retail stores now display Verizon Wireless signs, products and materials for customers, Verizon said. As part of the conversion, Verizon Wireless also added three “Evolution” stores, which combined and expanded former Verizon Wireless and Alltel locations in Phoenix, Chandler and Avondale.
Following the completion of the billing conversion, former Alltel customers may visit any Verizon Wireless stores in Arizona or across the country for sales and service, the company said.
Also, Verizon Wireless is upgrading and reconfiguring former Alltel cell sites and other network infrastructure across Maricopa County to work as part of the larger and more advanced network, the company said.
