From a childhood on the Alaskan tundra to a brief stint on Season Eight’s “Dancing With the Stars,” songstress Jewel Kilcher has traveled life’s road as a songwriter, poet, actress and painter, among other things. The three-time Grammy nominee brings her solo acoustic show to Mesa for one night only. Featured are songs from her latest album, “Lullaby,” an acoustic record of 10 self-penned songs and standards like “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” that’s reminiscent of her 12-time platinum album, “Pieces of You.” Country singer Ashley Monroe opens the show.
>> Jewel performs 8 p.m. Friday at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St. $37-$62. A backstage meet-and-greet package with an autographed album and other merchandise is available for $250 at www.jeweljk.com. For standard tickets, call (480) 644-6500 or visit www.mesaartscenter.com.
