Firefighters swarmed a house fire in south Tempe near Warner Road and Loop 101 Saturday.
According to Mike Reichling, Tempe fire spokesman, the fire started on the roof of the house about 2 p.m. and spread into the attic.
All five occupants of the home in the 2100 block of East Ranch Road got out safely.
Extra firefighters responded because of the excessive heat.
No firefighters were injured or overcome with heat exhaustion, Reichling said.
Firefighters from Tempe, Chandler and Gilbert responded.
