Thieves posing as realtors and prospective homebuyers struck two homes in Chandler on Monday, according to police.
Detective David Ramer, Chandler police spokesman, said home sellers should be cautious when contacted by a realtor to show the home.

Suggestions include getting the name of the sales people and company and getting their phone numbers for verification, securing valuables, having your realtor present when the home is being shown or be there yourself.
Home sellers can also jot down the license plate numbers of the realtors and prospective buyers, get a good description of the people in the house and check the Arizona Department of Real Estate at www.re.state.az.us to verify a person's real estate or broker license.
Ramer said that on Sunday a woman called a home seller and arranged to show the house on Monday.
The home seller left for an hour at the appointment time, and when he returned there was still a white Honda sport utility vehicle parked in front.
A man and woman came out and left in the SUV. The home seller then discovered items missing and a house key missing, which they might have gotten during a previous visit.
In the second theft, a listing realtor got a call on Sunday from a woman claiming to be a realtor and gave her the code to the lock and arranged for the showing on Monday.
The homeowner left on Monday and when he returned realized jewelry and coins were stolen.
