Bobby Kennedy, 31, was captured on March 18, 2008, in Lawton, Okla., after three years on the lam.
He was originally charged with two counts of child molestation and sexual abuse after teenaged students at Morningstar Academy accused him of inappropriately touching them and extorting them with threats of failing grades into taking naked photos of themselves.
Students in his class also told police Kennedy showed them photos of nude adults on his phone, an accusation he later told police was true.
According to Kostas Kalaitzidis, spokesman for the Pinal County Attorney’s Office, Kennedy was also given a 180-day deferred jail sentence, with 52 days already served.
A deferred jail sentence means the actual time behind bars can be avoided if the defendant maintains compliance with the court’s demands, Kalaitzidis said.
