Jeremias Aguilar was charged with that crime and two counts of felony child abuse after a Maricopa County grand jury handed down the indictment against him and his girlfriend on Wednesday, according to information from the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
Aguilar's girlfriend, Josefa Talavara, 20, who Chandler police say did not call 911 until more than two hours after the toddler was injured, was charged with one count of felony child abuse.
Aguilar is accused of throwing the toddler to the floor of Talavara's residence in the 200 block of North Fresno Street on June 6, causing fractures to the child's skull, according to Chandler police.
The child was flown to a nearby hospital and placed on life support, but died on June 18, soon after being taken off life support, according to the county attorney's office.
