A former National Football League kicker has earned an online MBA degree from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, even learning while attending training camp with the Atlanta Falcons.
Billy Cundiff originally planned to be a high school history teacher until he was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as a kicker. He kicked a record seven field goals in one "Monday Night Football" game in 2003.
He also competed for Tampa Bay, Green Bay and New Orleans. After being released by Atlanta, he continued to pursue his MBA using the NFL's education benefits.
The online MBA program allows students to participate in Webinars during which classmates can remotely interact with the school's career center.
Cundiff also joined a student entrepreneur network and landed a three-month internship that led to a full-time job with a venture capital firm in Scottsdale.
