A former Apache Junction High School girls basketball coach was indicted by a Pinal County grand jury on two felony sexually related charges involving a 17-year-old player on the team, according to information from the Pinal County Attorney's Office.
Jason Beck, 24, was indicted Thursday on one count each of sexual conduct with a minor and luring a minor for sexual exploitation, according to Pinal County Superior Court documents.
Beck, who is being held in the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on $25,000 bond, is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse with the girl and offering or soliciting oral sex through text messages, both alleged incidents in December, according to court documents.
Beck was hired as a part-time coach by the school in late October, and was arrested by Apache Junction police on Feb. 3 after the school district and police began investigating the allegations against him in January, according to Carol Shepherd, spokeswoman for the Apache Junction Unified School District.
Beck subsequently resigned from his coaching job on Jan. 13, according to Shepherd.
