The popular P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon will cause some disruptions to light rail and bus service on Sunday.

Beginning with the start of service at 5 a.m. until about 10 a.m., Metro’s trains won’t run from the Encanto/Central Avenue station to the western end of the line at 19th Avenue/Montebello.

Regular service will be provided to the rest of the line between McDowell/Central and Main/Sycamore in Mesa. Also, there will be additional trains to support marathoners and supporters.

The entire line will become operational with the clearing of the marathon.

Meanwhile, Valley Metro bus service in Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe will be disrupted from the start of the race until approximately the following times: Phoenix, 1 p.m.; Scottsdale, 3 p.m.; Tempe, 4 p.m.

The routes that will be affected are: 0, 1, 3, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 29, 32, 39, 41, 44, 50, 56, 60, 66, 70, 72, 81 and Orbit Earth.

For more information, including updated information on route detours, visit www.valleymetro.org or call customer service at (602) 253-5000.
