Theft from phone company sends man to prison

A Gilbert man was sentenced to one year in federal prison for shipping $130,000 worth of stolen Verizon circuit boards to a company in California.
Albert William Harris III, 49, was sentenced on Monday on two counts of interstate transportation of stolen property, the U.S. Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Harris, a warehouse employee of Verizon Wireless in Tempe, had pleaded guilty to the offenses in October, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
