Firefighters put out apartment blaze

Scottsdale firefighters were dispatched to an apartment fire about 3 a.m. in the 9800 block of North 73rd Street, according to fire officials.
Crews fought the fire in the attic of a three-story apartment, according to Tiffani Nichols, a spokeswoman for the Scottsdale Fire Department.
She said flames were rising through the roof of the structure and that the fire had spread to adjoining units.
Nichols said no one was injured in the fire and that emergency workers were able to safely battle the flames, which lasted for less than an hour.
No further information was available as of late Saturday.
