The University of Texas’ “Showband of the Southwest” and Ohio State University’s “Best Damn Band in the Land” are looking to fire up revelers at the 2009 Fiesta Bowl Parade in Phoenix today.

The two universities’ bands are among those participating in the Fort McDowell Fiesta Bowl Parade, presented by the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. and will start just south of Bethany Home Road on Central Avenue, travel south to Camelback Road and turn east, then turn south on Seventh Street and end at Minnezona Avenue. The route is nearly two miles long.

The third-ranked Texas Longhorns will face off against the 10th-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes in the 38th annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl at 5:30 p.m. Monday at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.
