Bowl bands battle at downtown 'stadium'

The marching bands from Fiesta Bowl opponents University of Texas and Ohio State University will engage in a battle of the bands 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today in a simulated stadium at the southeast corner of Goldwater Boulevard and Via Soleri, just south of Camelback Road.

City officials said in a statement that the concert is designed to entertain fans, alumni, winter visitors and local aficionados of marching band music.

Tickets are $25 for VIP stadium seating, $15 general admission, $10 for students and free for those ages 6 and younger.

Tickets can be purchased at www.fiestabowl.org, at the Fiesta Bowl office in Downtown Scottsdale, or at the gate the night of the event.

Free parking is available at the SouthBridge garages, Waterfront garages, Nordstrom garage and at Scottsdale Fashion Square, along with the Third Street garage - all located steps away from the venue.

Fiesta ArtWalk steps off at galleries

Join out-of-town visitors in the Valley for the Fiesta Bowl college football game in enjoying an array of downtown Scottsdale's art galleries noon to 4 p.m. today.

The annual "Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk" is in the Scottsdale Arts District, along Main Street, Marshall Way, Stetson Drive and Sixth Avenue north and south of Indian School Road.

The live music acts will be presented in part by Grand Lux Café, one of many restaurants providing free samples at the event.
