Sprinkler system douses kitchen fire

kitchen fire in a Scottsdale apartment was quickly extinguished by an automatic sprinkler system Thursday morning, Scottsdale fire officials said in a statement.
Firefighters were dispatched at 11:30 a.m. to the apartment, in the 11300 block of North 92nd Street, said fire department spokeswoman Tiffani Nichols.
A neighbor had called 911 after seeing flames from a window, Nichols said. No injuries were reported. The cause and loss estimate were not available, but the activation of the sprinkler system kept fire and smoke damage to a minimum, she said.
