ASU notebook: Carpenter undergoes knee surgery

Arizona State quarterback Rudy Carpenter underwent successful surgery to repair a torn meniscus and cartilage in his right knee on Monday.
ASU shut out on All-Pac-10 first team
The procedure lasted 15 minutes. Carpenter, who played his last game in Saturday’s 31-10 loss at Arizona, will begin rehabilitation on Wednesday.
Carpenter ended his ASU career with 799 completions (a school record) in 1,309 attempts for 10,491 yards and 81 touchdowns. He started 43 consecutive games, the longest streak for an active quarterback in the nation.
