Scottsdale police are investigating a bank robbery involving an armed robber who entered a branch of Wells Fargo bank in north Scottsdale yelling and firing a handgun Friday.
The robber entered the bank at 15760 N. Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. near 90th Street at 9:35 a.m. and brandished two handguns, yelled that he was robbing the bank and demanded money from the tellers, police said.
A bank employee called 911 to report the robbery.
The robber fired two shots into the ceiling of the bank and took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a dark sedan, possibly a late 1990s Ford Taurus.
Scottsdale police said none of the more than 20 customers and employees inside the bank was injured.
The robber was described as a white man in his late 20s or 30s, wearing dark clothing, a fake beard, a hat and sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the Scottsdale Police Department at (480) 312-5000.
