The Coyotes acquired forward Joakim Lindstrom from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for defenseman Logan Stephenson. Lindstrom will join the Coyotes’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the San Antonio Rampage.
Lindstrom, 24, has recorded seven goals, 21 points and 33 penalty minutes in 21 games this season for the Iowa Chops of the AHL, tying him for the team-lead in points. In 2007-08, Lindstrom split the season between the NHL and AHL, collecting 3-4-7 in 25 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets and recording 25-35-60 in 49 games with Syracuse. He established both NHL and AHL career-highs in goals, assists and points last season.
A native of Skelleftea, Sweden, Lindstrom has appeared in 37 career NHL games. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound Lindstrom was originally drafted by Columbus in the 2nd round (41st overall) of the 2002 Entry Draft.
