Tempe-based US Airways said it will give back mileage to some of its frequent fliers.
As part of its cost-cutting initiatives, the hometown airline earlier this year slashed bonus miles and eliminated the 500-mile minimum award for short hops.
The company said it has reinstated bonus miles for Preferred-status fliers and given back retroactive miles that they would have earned since August.
US Airways Dividend Miles members earn and retain Preferred status when they purchase and fly at least 25,000 miles or 30 segments within a calendar year.
The company said it also reinstated the 500-mile minimum award for all Dividend Miles members and gave back miles they would have accrued since May.
