Ceremonies formally dedicating the new Scottsdale Main Post Office will kick off a grand opening celebration Friday at the post office, 1776 N. Scottsdale Road, postal officials announced.

The brief 10 a.m. ceremony features Scottsdale Postmaster Jeffrey Day, Scottsdale city officials and representatives from the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce.

It will be followed by the grand opening celebration that will last until 1 p.m. and will include free refreshments and door prize drawings. All events will be in the main lobby.

The new Main Post Office opened to the public Sept. 27, after postal employees moved from the old location on Osborn Road during the weekend before that.
