The Associated Press

Mere hours before Friday’s 2 p.m. deadline, expectant father Aaron Baddeley of Scottsdale finally committed to the Frys.com Open, which takes place Thursday through Oct. 26 at Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale.

Baddeley, the No. 29 ranked player in the world and the winner of the 2007 FBR Open, was unavailable for comment. But the 27-year-old Australian and his wife, Richelle, are expecting their first child any day.

Baddeley is the sixth player ranked in the top 50 in the world to commit to the 132-man field. Defending champ Mike Weir is the highest ranked at No. 23.

Two more sponsor’s exemptions remain and will be announced over the weekend. They will go to the highest ranked Nationwide Tour or PGA Tour qualifying school graduates on the alternate list.
