Salt River Project and Cachet Homes are partners in a new housing development in Chandler that promises to offer water and energy savings.
The Paseo Lindo community, which will hold its grand opening this weekend, is offering houses that qualify for both the SRP PowerWise Homes program for energy savings and the SRP DesertWise program for water savings. It is the first community in SRP's service territory to achieve both standards, according to project representatives.
Paseo Lindo is located at the northeast corner of Arizona Avenue and Ocotillo Road.
Features of the new houses include high-efficiency air conditioning and proper sealing to minimize energy waste and low-water-use landscaping and "smart" irrigation controllers to save water, representatives said.
