Queen Creek, Higley schools to be closed Monday
There will be no school in the Queen Creek and Higley unified school districts Monday for a staff professional development day.

The Gilbert Unified School District will be on fall break until Friday.
Higley school board to meet Tuesday
The Higley Unified School District governing board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesd ay at the district office, 2935 S. Recker Road, Gilbert.

Special education workshop series set
The Higley Unified School District is offering the third training in the three-part Special Education Workshop Series from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Higley High School library, 4068 E. Pecos Road, Gilbert.
Note that this is a new location.
This workshop is for families of children who receive special-education services. Part three is about parents as advocates, and focuses on why it is important to learn appropriate advocacy skills.

Queen Creek school hosts rummage sale
Queen Creek Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization is hosting a rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday in the school’s parking lot, 23636 S. 204th St., Queen Creek. There will be clothes, toys, furniture, a big-screen TV, household items and baby items. Proceeds will be used for supplies and playground equipment.
