Victim’s wife arrested in Mesa stabbing

Mesa police Thursday night arrested Gloria Munguia on one count of second degree murder in the death of Albert Vest, who was found stabbed inside the couple’s apartment.

At 3:45 p.m, police responded to 450 W. University Drive, near University and Country Club drives. They received a call after two repairmen went to the apartment and needed to get inside for part of their work. When they knocked at the door, there was no response. While they were waiting to gain access, Munguia arrived home and opened the door. Shortly thereafter, Vest, 28, was found dead inside the apartment.

Based on evidence and an interview, police booked Munguia, 26, into the Mesa Police Department holding facility.
