Arizona State starting middle linebacker Gerald Munns will miss the rest of the season due to a family issue, the school announced on Tuesday.

"He and his family have ASU's full support," school spokesman Mark Brand said.
Citing federal educational privacy laws, ASU did not disclose other details, including whether Munns is still enrolled in classes.
Munns, a junior, was selected the Pac-10 defensive player of the week after recording seven tackles and an interception against Stanford on Sept.6. He missed the UNLV game after undergoing surgery to repair a broken finger, then started against Georgia
Morris Wooten will likely start in the middle when ASU plays at California on Saturday, coach Dennis Erickson said, with Mike Nixon and Shelly Lyons backing up.
