Scottsdale police are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 76-year-old man with Alzheimer’s disease who took his dog for a walk this morning but never returned home.
John Vowells took the dog for a walk at 9 a.m., but the dog returned to the family’s home in the 8300 block of East Captain Dreyfus Avenue about an hour later without Vowells.
He was last seen wearing a gray or white T-shirt and green pajama pants, and has a thin gray beard and gray hair. He wears glasses and has scars on his arms and hands from a burn injury about 15 years ago.
Vowells possibly was sighted in the area of the pedestrian walkway near the Loop 101 and Sweetwater Avenue about 9:30 a.m., police said. His home on Captain Dreyfus is near 83rd Street between Cactus and Thunderbird roads.
