A day after the tragic and untimely death of Officer Barry Scott, the Phoenix police officer who collapsed after a charity boxing match, a bank account has been opened to aid the wife and infant child he left behind.

The account has been opened at Bank of America under the name “Officer Barry Scott.” Donations will go to 22 year-old Scott’s wife and baby, according to Phoenix police. Donators are advised to go to Bank of America and inform bank personnel that the money is for the “Officer Barry Scott” account. The bank is not releasing the account number for security reasons.

Scott was a veteran of the Iraq war who joined Phoenix police in the summer of 2007. He collapsed after a charity boxing event last week and remained on life support until his death late Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities have not released details about his injuries or cause of death.
