Scottsdale will consider Tuesday whether it wants to pursue placing new restrictions on payday loan stores, which could include mandating a minimum distance between them.
Mayor Mary Manross requested the discussion at a council meeting last month, saying that she wants to prevent the proliferation of the stores in Scottsdale.
The council meeting starts at 5 p.m. at City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
Any council action Tuesday will not be a final vote, but rather a decision about whether to pursue new regulations. Meetings about the specific regulations would be held at a later date.
