Dump truck collision causes power outage

A dump truck struck a traffic signal pole in the 8700 block of Union Hills Drive late this morning, knocking out APS service to at least five intersections, according to Scottsdale police and the power utility.

Power already had been restored by the time police arrived at the scene, Scottsdale police officer Dave Pubins said.

The number of people affected by the outage and the specific intersections disrupted were not available.
