A Mesa police officer followed a stolen vehicle Tuesday evening as the driver went over a curb and into an apartment parking lot, police say. The four men in the vehicle attempted to flee on foot and three were eventually captured.
A call for the stolen vehicle, described as a green Chrysler Concorde with Utah plates, originated in Tempe just before 8 p.m.
A Mesa officer spotted the vehicle heading northbound on Dobson Road near Baseline Road and followed until it reached a private driveway. The vehicle was driven over a curb and into the parking lot of Homestead Village, police say.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety, Tempe police and Mesa police set up a perimeter in the area and were able to capture three of the four men.
Police are continuing to search for the fourth suspect.
