Carolyn Starr has bowed out of the race for the Higley Unified School District governing board. Starr, 43, who has two children in the district, said Tuesday she wants to spend more time with her family.
“I hope you can understand and support my decision,” Starr wrote in an e-mail statement. “I am not going anywhere and will continue to be an advocate of change in our district.”
Five candidates – Paul Howell, Geoff Johnston, Greg Land, Taunya Lofgreen and incumbent Denise Standage – will now vie for the three open seats on the board.
