ASU’s Davis on Hendricks watch list

Arizona State junior defensive end Dexter Davis was one of 36 athletes named to the watch list for the Ted Hendricks Award Monday, presented annually to the nation’s top defensive end.
Former Sun Devil Terrell Suggs won the first ever Hendricks Award in 2002. The winner will be announced on Dec. 10.
Davis (Phoenix, Ariz.) has started all 26 games of his Sun Devil career. Last season, Davis earned second-team all-Pac-10 honors after finishing tied for third in the conference with 10.5 sacks to go along with 33 combined tackles, three forced fumbles and one pass breakup.
In his two seasons at ASU, Davis has accumulated 75 combined tackles, including 24 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks and six forced fumbles.
