Tucker leads Suns to summer league win

LAS VEGAS - Alando Tucker scored 25 points Sunday to lead the Phoenix Suns past the Washington Wizards 88-69 in the finale for both teams in the Las Vegas Summer League at UNLV.

D.J. Strawberry had 20 points for the Suns, who finished 2-3 in summer league play.
The Suns jumped out to an early 7-2 lead and led by as many as seven points, ending the quarter ahead 22-16. Phoenix’s Judson Wallace scored 11 points and went 4-of-4 in the quarter.
The Wizards (2-3) rallied in the second quarter on the strength of a 9-0 run, taking a 32-27 lead with 4:12 left. They held a two-point lead going into the half. Washington’s Frank Elegar had six points in the quarter.
Washington led 63-58 entering the final period, but the Suns clamped down and allowed only two points in the first five minutes, taking a nine-point lead after going on a 12-0 burst.
Phoenix led by as many as 20 in the fourth quarter, as Tucker scored 15 and Strawberry added seven in the period.
Wallace finished with 15 points.
