Man hurt in rollover

Devon Hersom,

Police believe that a Gilbert man, who had just left his home in his vehicle after a fight with his girlfriend, ran into a wall, hit a utility pole and rolled his car in a Gilbert intersection on Thursday.

Gilbert police found 36-year-old Roger Penton near the intersection of Recker and Elliot roads after he rolled his car. After some investigation, police believe that Penton ran into a wall twice in a nearby community at Lexington Avenue and Sabino Drive and later flipped his car near the Recker and Elliot intersection.

Penton was later transferred to Scottsdale Osborn Healthcare hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

Police believe he will be charged with DUI, reckless driving and endangerment.
