Nearly 30 firefighters from three East Valley departments battled a blaze this afternoon that destroyed a home on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
Scottsdale, Mesa and Salt River fire departments began fighting a house fire that broke out about 1 p.m., at 11520 E. Earll Drive, according to Kerry Swick, battalion chief for the Scottsdale Fire Department.
Firefighters battled the blaze for more than two hours by using tanker trucks because no fire hydrants were close to the home, Swick said.
No injuries were reported, and the lone occupant of the residence was not at home when the blaze started, Swick said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
