Chandler police arrested a 51-year-old man for repeatedly damaging his estranged wife’s son’s home over a 5-day period, including spray painting and stabbing the inside walls of the home with a knife.
Chandler resident Jedidiah Shabach parked his vehicle in an apartment complex close to the home near 2901 W. Curry Street Saturday and jumped over a wall to enter the residence at 8:30 p.m., according to a police booking record. While in the backyard, he chopped down several palm trees.
After entering the home, Shabach ransacked it completely by painting the walls and driving knives into them, the report said.
The report also stated that Shabach chased his wife’s son, Samuel Milewski, down the street and attempted to hide from police after they arrived. Chandler police believe Shabach may be mentally disturbed.
Shabach has a prior arrest in Arizona, and California convictions for child molestation and aggravated assault on a police officer, the report said.
According to the report, his Arizona arrest was for an aggravated assault on a Mesa police officer.
Shabach’s estranged wife, Grace Milewski, obtained an order of protection from the Chandler City Court prior to the incident.
Shabach has been charged with disorderly conduct and criminal damage, according to the report.
