Lost hikers in the Superstitions rescued

Mike Branom, Tribune

Two hikers lost in the Superstition Mountains near Gold Canyon were found unharmed on Sunday.

The pair was walking the Peralta Trail starting around 11 a.m. Saturday and were reported as missing that night, Pinal County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Vanessa White said.

A search and rescue team began looking for them on Sunday morning but the hikers found them first, White said.

No further details were immediately available.
