Rain and temperatures might fall hard over the next few days, as the monsoon is expected to begin in earnest.

Weather Service defines 'Arizona Monsoon Season'
Daytime highs will drop to the upper 90s by Friday, which is about 10 degrees below normal.
Also, the Valley's forecast between tonight and Friday night shows a 40 percent chance of precipitation.
Because of the possibility of thunderstorms and showers dropping plenty of rain, the National Weather Service is considering issuing a flash flood watch for the Valley and other parts of south-central Arizona.
According to the weather service, a disturbance in the upper atmosphere will slide from northwest Mexico into Arizona late today. Meanwhile, the air above our state already is laden with moisture, meaning the conditions are ripe for what meteorologists are calling "a high-grade monsoon."
In addition, the prevailing winds are out of the east and northeast, so storms forming over the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains will move toward the Valley
