A Mesa woman and her dog were injured in a drive-by shooting Thursday night, police said.
Just before 11 p.m., Mesa police said an unknown number of people fired about 20 rounds into a home in the 1000 block of North Arvada, southeast of Brown and Higley roads.
The shots came as two adults were in their family room watching television. A bullet fragment struck a woman in the leg and the family’s dog was injured in its stomach by another bullet. The woman was treated and released, and the dog was taken to an emergency animal clinic where it was also treated and released.
