Scottsdale police seek downtown merchants' input
Mike Sakal, Tribune
Scottsdale police are seeking updated information on downtown business owners in the event that emergencies or crime trends emerge close to their establishments.
The request was prompted because of recent changes and new additions to downtown, which the city defines as being bordered by Chaparral Road, 68th Street, Miller Road and Earll Drive.
Scottsdale officials say that about $2 billion worth of private and public reinvestment has been completed or planned in the downtown area in recent years.
Officers from the department's downtown district are reminding business owners to complete emergency contact cards.
Because of many recent changes in business ownership, the department is seeking the contact names, addresses, keyholder names and e-mail addresses.
Business owners may pick up the emergency contact cards at the downtown office, at 4248 N. Craftsman Court, or at any district police station.
The cards can be dropped off at the stations or mailed to Scottsdale Police Department, Communications Department, 9065 E. Via Linda, Scottsdale, AZ 85258.
